Wound Treatment Center in Alpena Receives National President’s Circle Award
Alpena, Mich. April 26, 2022 – The Wound Treatment Center at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena has been recognized for excellence in patient satisfaction, operations and clinical outcomes. The Center received the President’s Circle award from Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.
“It is an honor to be a part of a team that has been recognized as providing the highest standards of care and exceeding national standards within our community,” said Adam Heinemann, D.O., the Center’s medical director, who specializes in emergency medicine, wound treatment and hyperbaric medicine. “We attribute the success of our center to incredible teamwork and daily drive to positively impact every patient. Treating wounds is complex, and we work to engage patients in the process as part of their team.”
The Wound Treatment Center offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds, defined as wounds which have not healed within 30 days of conventional treatment. Advance treatment options at the center include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
“We are thrilled, after just two short years in the Healogics network to have earned their most prestigious award, which is given to the ‘Best of the Best’ among their more than 600 Wound Treatment centers nationwide,” said Sally Ann Whitener, Program Director. “It is a testament to the team’s dedication to providing exemplary patient care in a kind, caring and compassionate way.”
